Fido - debug and trace tool for MIPI
Fido is a debug and trace data acquisition system that supports Mobile Industry Processor Interface (MIPI©) System Trace Protocol. It is a distributed system consisting of hardware components (Fido boxes) and software (for controlling Fido boxes and pre-processing trace data).

Fido box receives and buffers trace data, provides preliminary processing and transfers data to a PC via USB connection. The main task of Fido software is to receive preliminarily processed trace data, convert it into compact (for example, OST) messages and forward on to external application for analysis and display. The external application can run on the same PC with Fido software or on a remote computer (then the application receives data via TCP/IP). As an option, data may be downloaded from Fido using a web browser instead of an external application. Each Fido box implements one data channel, software is able to serve maximum 8 devices. Fido has a built-in interface for controlling the tracing session. There is also a command interface so that Fido can be controlled by external applications.
Fido hardware and software is developed by Liewenthal Elecronics Ltd. which provides also the software support. The hardware manufacturer and provider is the PKC Electronics Oy.
